Finding lost laptop
I left my laptop on an ADF flight. I am grateful that it was found and returned to me. However, the procedure was not smooth. I filled in the online form and the next day I received an email that the the laptop had been found and could be collected at CDG by reporting to the objets trouvé office at CDG on level 3 at the Gare SNCF. The office was impossible to find. Eventually some AF staff who were delivering a lost bag let me into an anonymous office that required a code to enter. The official there told me that I needed to go to Lost and Found in Terminal 2F. That was also impossible to find. Eventually, an AF staff member suggested that I use a phone outside lost luggage. That did not work, but another staff member seeing my confusion opened the door so that I could enter the luggage collection area. There I finally found a staff member who could track my lost laptop and arrange for its delivery, which took another hour. AF staff were helpful, but the procedure was over-complex and could have been much clearer with an instruction to go directly to a person who could arrange delivery of the lost object.
