Lost item nightmare
Horrible! Does Air France actually have a phone number? It is impossible to talk to a real person. Your website for customer service goes in an AI help, FAQs, website reroute ad infinitum. I finally found your 3rd party baggage retrieval website and submitted a claim. There is a difference between losing luggage and forgetting something on a plane. I forgot my iPad on the plane in CDG. I did not realize it until a day later. I should be able to call someone and be directed back to the lost and found at the airport. Instead, I had to list my IPad on your 3rd party website. The listing of a black IPAD yielded NO RESULTS for 4 days! Yet, my Find Device app clearly showed it with Air France at the airport. When I returned to the airport and went to baggage retrieval, the only documentation I had was the listing claim number. Since the website did not “find” the item, this claim number was of no help. The woman who did help me, “found” the iPad. What did she do that your computer could not? After a phone call, she asked me for the code to open the IPad when it was not in my presence. Who is now opening my iPad without me being present? Everything in it could now be compromised. Why not present me with the iPad and allow me to open it? She asked for my ID before I got the iPad. Good. The manager who she brought me to 10 feet away checked my ID. Good. The manager who gave me the iPad checked my ID. Good. Apparently , Air France takes security very seriously, except they have no problem with opening up their customers IPads without them being present. Security is a two way street. By the way, the food and wine on our flight was excellent!

There is only one and only website for items lost on Air France'flights going to CDG : https://airfrance.franceobjetstrouves.fr/ There are no phone numbers listed on that website because the desk does not have one. You can however contact the support with the "contact form" on the website. You can also reach them here : infos@franceobjetstrouves.fr For the "not found" matter, your item was only delivered to the lost and found on the 4th may, in the morning.
